Our Mission
We are setting out to increase the number and diversity of voices walking and speaking up for nature—and to ensure those voices are heard.
About Us
Pilgrimage for Nature is an independent civil society movement, intially sparked by Jolie Booth of Kriya Arts and Anna Lehmann of No Planet B Initiative, who together created ‘Listening to the Land Pilgrimage for Nature’ in 2021, leading 28 pilgrims from London to the UN Climate Conference COP26 in Glasgow, developing a performance along the way they presented to the delegates in the Green Zone.
Since then the pilgrims have continued to walk in co-productions created by Jolie Booth and Scarlett Lowin, under the name ‘Strolling Mummers’.
Most of us walking are women and Caucasian; some but not all of us are artists or landworkers; we come from a wide range of diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, ages and physical abilities.
We are not a faith-based movement but are open to people of all religions, sexual orientations, gender identities and none. We have no party political affiliations. We are hoping to inspire many more people from all walks of life and identity backgrounds to join us.
Our Partners
No Planet B Initative are world citizens on a mission to build a world that allows ourselves, our communities and nature to heal and regenerate. We start by healing ourselves, by growing what is good for us and the planet… and by walking to the climate conference in Glasgow.
Letters to the Earth will anchor workshop events along the route with a focus on ethnic minority and marginalized groups to facilitate conversation, deep listening and creativity as people share their messages for a safer, greener and more resilient world.
Local lore-keepers from the Wisdom Keepers network will host ceremonies at seven key sacred sites along the route.
Arts Collective Still Moving will illuminate the most electrifying sound bites through light installations across the city of Glasgow.
International participatory video organization Insight Share has activated their worldwide network of Indigenous video hubs to create short films on their hopes for nature, and their own sacred walking traditions.
